    🚨BREAKING🚨
Tomorrow, the Senate will vote on my resolution that would shut off the COVID spending spigot and overturn the Department of Treasury’s attempts to continue spending Coronavirus State and Local Fiscal Recovery Fund for years to come.
Last November, the Treasury Department decided it knew better than this body and Congress, and the Department rewrote the law to fit its own needs.
Money that was originally authorized by Congress to aid revenue shortfalls is being spent on golf courses, swimming pools, and most notably on illegal immigrants:
-$340 million for cash payments to illegal immigrants in Washington State.
-$3.6 million in Illinois to help illegal immigrants apply for citizenship.
-$2 million in DC to help turn the District into a “proud sanctuary city.”
This rule does not even keep the spigot on in order to arguably directly benefit our constituents. This is bureaucrats giving a helping hand and a paycheck to—you guessed it—other bureaucrats.
If Treasury gets their way, this rule will cost taxpayers an estimated $13 BILLION, if not more.
That boils down to approximately $1,200 for each and every American family.
COVID is over. Our national debt is out of control. Inflation is sky-high.
It’s time to turn off the COVID spending spigot, and put an end to this slush fund.
