We honor this young man from Marshall County, who even though he was just a teenager, died on foreign soil to preserve our rights and freedoms. After more than seven decades, he will finally be laid to rest back home.

I enjoyed getting to visit Thursday night with the West Blount County Chamber of Commerce as they held their 11th Annual Thanksgiving dinner.

Caroline and I got to help celebrate the 100th Anniversary of Kate Duncan Smith DAR School in Grant in Marshall County. I presented the school with a flag flown over the U.S. Capitol and an entry in the Congressional Record to mark the occasion. The Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) created the school
